High Pressure Bladder Diaphragm Accumulator

HYDAC is a German-based, internationally operating group specializing in fluid technology, hydraulics, and electronic control systems. Founded in 1963, the company offers components, systems, and services for various industrial and mobile applications. HYDAC is known for its expertise in hydraulics, system technology, and fluid engineering, providing solutions across multiple industries.

A bladder diaphragm accumulator is a type of hydropneumatic accumulator that uses a flexible bladder or diaphragm to separate a gas (typically nitrogen) from a hydraulic fluid. These accumulators store energy in the form of compressed gas, which can then be released to supplement pump flow, maintain pressure, or absorb shocks in a hydraulic system.

Diaphragm accumulators are normally supplied with a transit pressure (less than 2
bar). The hydraulic accumulator must be charged by the operator to the required pre-charge pressure before commissioning. The pre-charge pressure is indicated on a
label on the accumulator shell, or stamped on the accumulator shell or engraved on the type code label. The nominal values of the pre-charge pressure are based on a charging temperature of 20 °C.

Pre-charge pressure level
The pre-charge pressure level is calculated from the system operating data. If the pre-charge pressure is too high the full-PTFE-diaphragm can become damaged.
